Corn Based Ethanol has helped make the price of corn extremely high. The price of calves are going to get cheaper if we don't do something. It now costs almost $1.20 per lb. to feed cattle in the feedyard. It's simple economics, either the price of fat cattle have to go up, or corn has to get cheaper, or the price of calves will be cheaper.
If we want to stop the prices of calves from getting lower we must help ourselves.
Our company has developed a web site www.foodb4fuel.com. There you can send a letter via email and fax to the EPA, Governor and your U.S. Senator and ask them for help.
It's very simple
- Go to foodb4fuel.com
- Click on Take Action
- Enter your state
- Choose your perspective
- Choose your concern
- Enter your name, email, home, address
- Click Start my Letter
- Click Send
It's that simple. We must get all comments in to the EPA by June 23.
I urge you to give this letter to all your customers, friends, suppliers and employees. If we don't do something to stop this crazy public policy of corn based ethanol, I fear the cattle business will look a lot different in the future. Anyone from any state can send this letter.
Thanks,
